Bones and muscles expirement?
ok so im doing my science fair and we only have one week to do it. I chose how the muscles move the bones and how they work together. little did i know is that we have to have an expirement. I don’t know how i can expirement with step by step instructions on how the muscles move the bones. i was given a folder with a log on step by step instructions on how i completed my expirement. i can’t think of anything. i can’t change the topic because i already completed by research paper. if you have ANY ideas i will take them into concideration. i only have 6 more days and i haven’t done anything about it because we just found out thanks so much!
Why did you wait so long? The idea behind a science fair is to develop good habits of research, documentation, etc. I hope that lesson is learned.
So saying that, you could have a descriptive project rather than an experiment. One way would be to get some owl pellets, and remove the bones. Look for examples of various bone to bone joints, and paste those on your posterboard, with a writeup about the type of joint involved and the muscles needed (levers, ball and socket, etc). Be careful as young prey animals may have the end of their bones separated from the bone shaft because of the cartilage layer.
Another thing could be to try to get x-rays of human joints, and discuss the nature of the joints..
