What do you think these old chests would be worth?
I found these old chests for free at a garage sale. One is about 2 feet high, 3 feet long and 1.5 feet deep. It’s dark brown with brass closures. Looks very old but in good condition. The other is dark army green with some kind of cartoon war plane on the top. With the letters ADMM stenciled on the top. It’s about 1 foot tall, 3 feet long, and 2 feet deep. It looks like an old war trunk. I’ve researched them online but can’t find anything.
Sorry I don’t have pictures. And can’t find any dates on the trunks anywhere. Any idea where they might be from? How old they are and how much they might be worth?
Not looking to sell them just curious.
Thanks
I live in Mb, Canada if it makes a difference.
unless you can find out history or something unique about them then they are worth what you got them for.
if you took them to a auction house that sells old goods then they would be able to give a blunt opinion as to any value.i don’t mean sell them there but ask what they think as to value.
but as you got them for nothing you cant lose.
i was at an auction like above place they were bidding on an old trunk and the two bidders reached an understanding and one pulled out i was within earshot when asked why wanted it said not for resale but to go on back of vintage car to complete the effect.
so you never know it the trunk could have a value to someone that you would not expect.
